Hire Terms & Conditions

PAYMENT

  • A refundable $150 deposit is required to secure all hire bookings.

  • All hire items must be returned undamaged, clean, and free from food/beverage residue.

  • If items are returned in an unacceptable state, the return of your deposit will be at the discretion of Altera Events.

  • Hire items must never be left unattended. Stolen or unreturned items will forfeit your deposit and may incur a replacement fee.

  • The total invoice amount must be paid in full seven days prior to your event.

  • Bookings made within seven days of your event require full upfront payment, inclusive of the deposit fee.

  • Customised deposit fees may apply for bespoke or corporate packages.

  • Certain specialty items (e.g., red carpet, premium décor) may incur an additional deposit fee.

  • Cancellations made less than seven days before the event may result in hire costs being forfeited.

  • In the unlikely event that Altera Events terminates the agreement due to exceptional circumstances, all hire payments will be refunded in full.

EVENT SITE

  • The hirer is responsible for ensuring adequate and suitable space for hired items at private events.

  • Access for delivery and collection must be safe and clear.

 

BREAKAGES & LOSS

  • A replacement fee will apply for any lost, stolen, or damaged items.

  • Replacement costs are kept fair and transparent, based on the value of the item.

  • In cases of excessive damage or missing items, Altera Events reserves the right to retain the full deposit.

  • Paper goods (e.g., napkins, straws) are consumables and do not need to be returned.

 

THIRD-PARTY LIABILITY

  • Where tables, tents, or other large structures are hired, the hirer is entirely responsible for any third party required on-site.

  • Altera Events will not be held liable for injuries to persons or damage to property arising from the use of hired equipment.

  • The hirer indemnifies Altera Events against all claims of injury, loss, or damage, however caused.

 

PRIVACY INFORMATION

  • Altera Events will hold the hirer’s data securely and will not distribute personal information to any third party unless required by law.

  • This agreement is construed under Australian Law, and any disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
